Will a vitamin K injection be beneficial to our newborn?

Babies are routinely given a vitamin K injection after they’re born as it helps blood to clot and reduce the risk for HDN (haemorrhagic disease of the newborn) given their low levels of vitamin K during pregnancy or when they are breastfed. Significant research proved it to be very effective for avoiding preventable brain damage with 1:500,000 ratio for those injected with vitamin K.
