Why is my toddler prone to misbehave?
Nov 13, 2024From age two to three, it’s a journey of power struggles. These little munchkins love attention, and will do almost anything to get it, including misbehaving if that’s what it takes — any attention’s better than being ignored when you’re two-and-a-half. This is a big reason why pushing, shoving, and snatching are also all part of the average toddler’s tactics, which can also progress into hitting, biting and hairpulling. Then of course there are the Terrible Twos’ ferocious temper tantrum hissy-fit explosions, which are usually all about anger and frustration at a lack of independence . . . They want to be understood but can’t communicate clearly enough; or they want to do things their way but aren’t old enough to run their life. Potentially, loads of aggression stemming from loads of frustration.
