When does regurgitation happen?
Nov 13, 2024Regurgitation usually occurs when the mum’s milk supply is very fast, or the baby has drunk too much, or because he has a bubble of air in his tummy, or all three. Don’t worry if this happens occasionally, but if it’s persistent, then contact your LMC, doctor, lactation consultant or naturopath. If the vomit is greeny-yellow (contains bile); or is bloodstained; or the regurgitation is more like forceful projectile vomiting (which flies quite a few metres at great velocity, see page 280); then you should contact your LMC or GP.
