What’s wrong, how come my newborn seems like having a tough time sleeping?

When your little baby was a fetus in utero, she could doze off to sleep at the perfect moment, any time she wanted to. There was nothing much to look at, and nothing much to do, so whenever bub was slightly tired, she would snooze. But now she is relying on a pair of highly inexperienced first-time parents, who perhaps have not yet investigated the Baby Language of Tired Signs, to be able to work out when it is her ‘right’ sleep-time . . . so many new parents get it wrong, consistently.
