What’s a normal baby poop looks like?
Nov 19, 2024Within 24–48 hours of birth, your baby should produce its first dirty nappy, and for the first 2–3 days a new baby’s poo can range from something like black Marmite tar to dark green sludge. This is called meconium and it is the amniotic fluid debris (e.g. bile and mucous), which had accumulated in its intestine before birth.
