What outdoor activities can I do with my baby?
Nov 12, 2024Get outside of the house at least once a day, every day, and the earlier the better. Babies are very portable after the first 4–6 weeks — even just a five-minute stroll (not hike) with the pushchair around the block; or lying on a picnic rug reading a great book; or sitting under a tree with your eyes closed; or having a latte and yummy muffin outside at a café while browsing a magazine; or a sunset meander along the beach. Getting outdoors, especially for a half-hour walk, is mentally refreshing and emotionally uplifting. Another particularly healing thing to do is planting and weeding flowers or vegetables — it is a grounding activity that envelops you in Mother Earth’s restorative energy.
