A prolonged cry that sounds whiny, nasal and low pitched.

  • A weak-sounding cry.
  • 38°+C temperature (e.g. urinary tract infection).
  • Vomiting.
  • Seizures.
  • Diarrhoea.
  • Limpness.
  • Rash (e.g. allergies, dermatitis).
  • Pale or blue-tinged skin and feeling cold to the touch.
  • Coughing.
  • Wheezy breathing.
  • Hitting or pulling at their ears (earache).
  • Attempting then refusing feeds.
