What conditions can a cranial osteopath help with?

Some conditions such as constantly crying screaming babies, those who are constantly grumpy, irritable and upset, jumpy babies, windy babies, those with feeding difficulties, having persistent coughs and colds, conjunctivitis (sticky eyes), ear infections and glue ear, disturbed sleep, allergies, breathing disorders, colic, and more. So, within the first 1–2 weeks after arriving home from hospital, as an investment in their wellness, I recommend taking newborn babies to a cranial osteopath to have them checked for any residual misalignment caused from their birth. To diagnose any problems, the cranial osteopath gently holds the baby’s head while feeling for the cranial rhythmic flow of the cerebrospinal fluid (vaguely similar to a heartbeat but much slower) and individually checks all the skull-bone suture joins. If they discover any strains, they perform extremely gentle manipulations on the bones (to the untrained eye, it can look as if the osteo is hardly doing anything). The osteo will also do a complete body check including the back, neck, spine, sacrum, pelvis and abdomen. Afterwards it is normal for the baby to seem particularly relaxed, and they’ll often spend the afternoon ‘sleeping it off’.
