The biggest reason babies won’t sleep is that they are overstimulated and overtired. Signs that your babe is overtired are having a fixed-focused spaced-out stare; flailing arms, kicking legs; second and subsequent yawns, short wailing cries with short breaths in between, escalating to long, hard, red-in-the-face crying; baby seem angry; turning away from light or people; losing eye contact; jitteriness of the lower jaw; squirming when picked up and turning in towards your body, rubbing their eyes or cheeks or pulling their ears or scratching their face.
