What are some first aid remedies that I should know about?

Toddlers are independently mobile and quick on their feet — but have almost zero commonsense — and that can be a deadly combination. So, if you have never attended a first aid course, then as an investment in your parenting skills (especially for toddlerdom), it could be a very wise idea to learn how to deal with medical emergencies such as choking, severe bleeding, burns, poisoning and resuscitation. (I know of mothers who did not have the first aid knowledge to help their child, and it can be a hideous price to pay.)
