What are some differences between adult and baby sleeping patterns that we need to know?
Nov 14, 2024DO realise that when we as adults’ sleep overnight, we are not in one solid sleep that entire time. Our sleep actually occurs in about 90-minute cycles, but we have learnt to barely notice the moments between cycles. A baby’s sleep cycles are only around 40–60 minutes. DO remember, temperament aside, if your baby is always waking up cranky during day-sleeps, then chances are you may be getting him up as he stirs between cycles, not when he has actually finished sleeping. DON’T be startled if your baby sleeps with its eyes partially open, even during REM sleep. Freaky, but normal.
