Is it wise to have a third person with us during the delivery?
Nov 22, 2024Whether it is your mother, your partner or another reliable companion, we sometimes feel more reassured of having them attend to us in the birthing room, as they can lend an extra hand and support in the entire process. In choosing a birth-assistant, ideally, they should familiarize themselves with the aspects of labour and delivery, be your astute, non-judgemental cheerleader and have the physical stamina to last throughout your birth experience.
Whoever you choose as your birth assistant, communicate with them ahead and prep them up. What is important is that you state clearly what their role would be, so they can fully condition themselves before that day.
