I’m planning for a home-birth, what do I need to prepare in advance?

Top-of-mind would be as follows: a warm, well-lit room to comfortably give birth in; a large plastic sheeting as a mattress cover; clean flannels and many clean towels; paper towels and large plastic rubbish bags. Some large bowls; plastic sandwich bags with crushed ices; lots of pillows, cushions and beanbags with removable washable covers; low chairs or stools of various heights; a torch; a clothes tumble dryer or fan heater to heat towels; baby-receiving blanket and baby clothes; thermometer; maternity sanitary pads; change of clothes, heating facility or fan; food for your birthing team; an extra support person to do logistics.
