I’m experiencing pain on my tailbone after childbirth. What could this mean?

coccydynia tailbone pain Nov 19, 2024

Childbirth is one of the most common causes of coccydynia or pain in the tailbone. Dependent on the damage, pain can vary, especially when sitting, from slight discomfort to a constant chronic pain. If 1–2 weeks after childbirth your tailbone still aches, then go see an osteo or chiro within the next fortnight. When the pain is severe or persistent, sustained relief may be provided from a corticosteroid injection(s) to numb the pain and allow more rapid healing. Some also go for chiropractor or osteopath to receive relief from the pain. For extreme situations, surgical treatment may be required.
