I feel like I don’t know who I am now after giving birth. How do I address this?

It is common for women to feel that with gaining a baby they have lost their personal identity. But you have not lost your identity — you simply have a new identity. The aspect that can be hardest to swallow is that this new identity of motherhood doesn’t seem to have the same level of grandeur attached to it — because almost any female can become a mother without any kind of career commitment or tertiary degree. It is a self-esteem ego issue. You will eventually receive dividends, as your babies grow to become wonderful children — there is a business term for this: ‘delayed gratification’.
