How will my child’s poo change with the intake of solids?
Nov 13, 2024Once your baby starts on solids, expect the poo to radically change. If, until now, your bub has been primarily breastfed, his poo will begin to reek of a more indelicate odour. As your baby grows into a toddler and is eating less mushy food, be prepared too for the poo to sometimes contain food that doesn’t even look like it has been digested! From my observations, this seems to occur particularly with carrot, corn, peas and raisins. Also, beetroot can make poos look bloody and turn pee red; bananas can add black specks or black threads to the poos; and liquorice can turn poos greeny-black.
