How much pain do I expect to feel during childbirth?

Many factors are at play during a labour and not all births are agonising. It will depend on the strength at which the uterus contracts, position of baby’s head within the pelvis, amount the pelvis has already opened and still needs to widen and what the baby’s shoulders are pushing on. But don’t feel that you are less of a warrior for asking for pain relief because every labour produces a different level of pain.
