As responsible parents, it is but wise to secure your baby’s future in case any unfortunate events happen to you or your partner. Register your new babe under your own medical insurance immediately after birth, before some medical concern crops out, which could later become a pre-existing condition. Make sure you both have adequate death and living insurance, and wills that include provision for children. I also suggest that you consider organizing power of attorney for each other, to enable you to manage your partner’s affairs in the event of a tragedy.
