How do I boost my preschooler’s imagination?
Nov 13, 2024Preschoolers are super imaginative, and so fantasising and creativity are essential normal activities for them. They usually have great interest in pretend-play, exploring, listening, and doing. At age four they can also sort objects into pairs or groups, such as cup and saucer, or sock and shoe. When you read a bedtime story, feel free to add in your own commentary, and ask them abstract questions that force them to really think. They love it. In many ways, the preschooler still needs emotional involvement — rather than plain intellect — to problem-solve. Guided play is my favourite philosophy, and much research backs this approach.
