Does birthing vaginally hurt my baby?
Nov 22, 2024While mom’s experience intense contractions, the babies feel it only as pressure and the fetus are designed to withstand this. Babies produce great quantities of incredible stress-relieving hormones called catecholamines which is composed of adrenaline and dopamine, which gives the baby natural protection against oxygen shortages during delivery. Also, your uterus’s contractions push on your baby’s bottom, while the walls of the uterus hug it gently and tightly during each contraction peak. Being squeezed through the birth canal, gives off a high adrenaline levels which help to start breathing. Their first cry is more a shock at their new surroundings, so dimming the lights, warming the room and reducing noise, makes them calmer.
