Do parent groups really work for first time mothers?

Coffee groups primarily, work superbly when the mothers  ‘gel’ — and over years these women often end up becoming some of one’s closest and dearest friends. Or they fail miserably because the friendships simply don’t ‘gel’. If you try a coffee group that doesn’t work for you, please don’t give up on the idea completely — try a different coffee group, or create one of your own — because when it does ‘gel’, they can be a phenomenal source of mothering education and emotional support
