Are strawberry birthmarks on my baby, permanent?

Within the first few days or weeks after birth, some babies can develop a tiny red dot birthmark that gradually increases in size over the first 6–12 months to perhaps a 2.5 cm, bright-red bumpy lump. A great majority of these raised red or purplish marks do slowly reduce over years (or quite spontaneously disappear) and have usually completely gone by the child’s 5th to 10th birthday.
