Any tips when shopping for comfortable baby clothes?

When choosing singlets, the ones that dome-up at the bottom are great, because they stay in place (don’t ride up the back). Avoid newborn clothes like T-shirts, sweatshirts or jerseys (that don’t un-button) and which have to be stretched over a baby’s head. Avoid clothes with ties and ribbons that end up in a newborn’s mouth. Avoid knitted/crocheted cardies that have an open pattern of holes (which a newborn’s little fingers can get stuck in). Stretch’n’grow one-piece suits with enclosed feet are great, and so cosy. Soft natural leather booties (like Bobux or Pitter Patters), although not cheap, last very well and actually stay on a baby’s feet. A practical move be to keep all receipts when you shop as you can later on swap them for larger sizes if unused.
